How Long We Keep Things

Last updated 29 July 2026

Keeping information forever is a risk, not a feature. This page says how long we keep each thing, and exactly when we delete it.

1. Why we delete things

We're required to delete information once the reason we collected it has passed, and we follow that strictly. A wedding has an end date, which makes it unusually easy for us to know when that moment has arrived — so we act on it rather than quietly hanging on.

Your guests' names, phone numbers and addresses are the most sensitive information we hold, and those people never signed up with us. Keeping their details a year after they could possibly be needed would be a risk to them, so we don't.

2. The schedule

3. You always get warned first

Nothing is ever deleted on a schedule without telling you. We email you at least 30 days beforehand when your wedding data or an unused account is coming up for deletion, so you can save a copy — or simply log in to keep the account going.

You can download everything we hold at any time from Profile → Privacy & Data, and we'd encourage you to do that before any deletion date. Archived invitations can also be saved as a PDF keepsake, which downloads straight to your own device.

4. The one thing we keep

When you delete your account we erase everything except payment records. Indian tax and company law requires us to keep those for eight years, and that obligation overrides your deletion request — this is the one exception, and we would rather point it out plainly than bury it.

Those records are stripped of anything identifying the moment your account goes. We remove your name, email, phone number and address, and keep only the amount, currency, date and receipt reference. An auditor can confirm a payment happened; nobody can tell it was you.

5. Deleting sooner

You don't have to wait for any of the timings above. Delete an individual archived invitation from your dashboard, or your whole account from Profile → Privacy & Data. Both are permanent once the grace period is up.

If a guest asks you to remove their details, you can delete them from your guest list straight away. If they contact us directly we'll pass the request on to you, because that information is yours — see the Guest Data Agreement.
