Cookie Policy
Last updated 29 July 2026
Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in. Everything else is off until you say otherwise — and you can change your mind at any time.
1. The short version
We use a small number of cookies to keep you logged in and the site secure. Those are essential — without them the site simply wouldn't work, so they can't be switched off while you're using it.
We use one optional tool: Google Analytics. It does not load into a working state, and stores nothing, until you accept it in the consent banner. We do not run advertising or retargeting products, and we do not share anything with data brokers.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
These are set by us, locked down so no other site can read them, and never used to track you.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| session_token | Keeps you signed in to your account. Without it, every page would ask you to log in again. | 24 hours |
| admin_session_token | Signs in members of the wed.cards team to the admin console. Never set for ordinary visitors. | 24 hours |
| verified_cards | Remembers that you entered the correct access code for a private invitation, so you are not asked on every page. | 24 hours |
3. Browser storage we use
These aren't cookies — they stay in your browser and are never sent to us — but we list them anyway, because anything stored on your device deserves the same openness.
| Key | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| wc_consent_v1 | localStorage | Remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask on every visit. Strictly necessary — storing your refusal is what makes the refusal work. | Until you clear it |
| wc_geo_currency | sessionStorage | Caches which currency to display so we do not recalculate it on every page load. | Until you close the tab |
4. Analytics — only with your consent
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets the two cookies below. Until you do, it stores nothing at all. And when it does run, we have it configured to shorten your IP address before Google ever sees it, so it can count visits without identifying you.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes one visitor from another so visits can be counted. | 2 years | |
| _ga_<container-id> | Maintains the analytics session state. | 2 years |
Google handles this on our behalf, under contract. Full details are on our Service Providers page.
5. Changing your mind
Changing your mind has to be as easy as saying yes in the first place, and here it's a single switch:
- Signed in? Go to Profile → Privacy & Data and toggle analytics off. It takes effect immediately, with no page reload.
- Not signed in? Use the Cookie settings link in the footer to reopen the banner.
- You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings, which resets everything including your stored preference.
