Terms of Service

Last updated 31 July 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

By using wed.cards you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. They work alongside our Privacy Policy and, if you upload a guest list, our guest data terms.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly provide the service to children, and we ask you to confirm your age at sign-up.

You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for everything that happens under it. Tell us immediately at support@wed.cards if you believe it has been accessed without your permission — in practice this is the most likely way guest data gets exposed, so it matters more than any other line in these terms.

3. Your content

You keep all rights to everything you create and upload — photos, text, your invitation design. By uploading, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce and display that content solely to operate the service for you and your guests.

That licence ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not use your content to advertise, we do not license it to anyone else, and we do not use it to train AI models.

4. Guest data

This is the part most worth reading. When you add guests, you are sharing other people's details with us — people who never signed up here themselves.

Those details stay yours. You decide who is on the list and why. We simply hold them and act on your instructions, and we never use them for our own purposes. That split matters, so here it is plainly:

WhoRole
YouIn charge of your guests’ details. You decide what is collected and why.
wed.cardsWe hold and process those details for you, only on your instructions.
Your guestsThe people the information is about. Their requests come through you.

What we promise about guest data:

  • Only on your instructions. We use it to run the service you asked for — never for our own analytics, never for marketing, and never to train AI models.
  • Kept confidential and secure. Everyone with access is bound by confidentiality. It travels and is stored encrypted, and only the few people who genuinely need access to live data have it.
  • Named companies only. The full list of who else touches it is in our Privacy Policy. We give 30 days' notice before adding a new one.
  • We help you answer your guests. If a guest exercises a right against you, we will help. If a guest contacts us directly, we won't act on it ourselves — we will point them to you and let you know.
  • We tell you fast if something goes wrong. If guest data is caught up in a security incident, you hear from us within 48 hours of us finding out — deliberately quicker than any deadline you might face, so you have time to act rather than being caught out.
  • You can get it back or have it deleted at any time. The export in your profile gives you a complete copy whenever you want one.
  • Proof if you need it. If you ever need to satisfy yourself that we are doing all of the above, ask and we will show you.

What you are confirming when you upload guest details:

  • These are your own guests and you are entitled to share their details with us.
  • You will tell them who has their information if they ask.
  • You will act on their requests — you can delete any guest at any time.
  • You won't upload sensitive information (health, religion, and the like) beyond what a meal preference implies, or more than you actually need.
  • If a guest is a child, their parent or guardian is happy with it.
  • You will keep your password to yourself. In practice a shared password is the most common way guest data gets exposed, and it is the one thing only you can prevent.

If someone brings a claim because you uploaded details you weren't entitled to share, that falls to you rather than to us. This cuts both ways: keeping that information secure is our job, and that responsibility stays with us.

Guest data is deleted 12 months after your wedding date, when you delete your account, or whenever you ask — whichever comes first. The full schedule is in our Privacy Policy.

If you need a countersigned copy of these guest-data terms for your own records — some corporate and destination-wedding planners do — email support@wed.cards and we will arrange one.

5. AI-generated content

Our invitation message writer uses Google's Gemini model. When you use it we send only what you typed into the form — couple names, wedding date and venue name. No account identifiers and no guest data are sent.

AI writing can be wrong, oddly phrased, or accidentally similar to something else. Please read what it produces before you publish it. The final wording of your invitation is yours, and we can't promise generated text will be accurate or original.

6. Prohibited conduct

Do not use wed.cards for anything unlawful, or to upload content that is defamatory, obscene, hateful, or infringes anyone's rights. Do not attempt to breach our security, scrape the service, or use it to send unsolicited bulk messages to people who are not your guests.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches this section. Where we do, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your data first, unless the law prevents us.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Privacy & Data. We schedule permanent erasure 30 days later, and you can cancel any time before then by logging back in.

Everything goes except payment records, which Indian tax law requires us to keep for eight years — and we strip your personal details out of those the moment your account is deleted. You can download a full copy of everything first: see Privacy Policy.

8. Your information

Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have over your own information, under Indian law or the law of your own country.

We hold ourselves to the strictest privacy standards anywhere in the world and apply them to every user — you can download your data, delete it, or withdraw permission at any time. How all of that works is in our Privacy Policy, and if you're unhappy about anything, Privacy Policy explains exactly what happens next.

9. Trademarks

The name “wed.cards” and the wed.cards logo are trademarks. The registration is in progress and all rights are reserved.

10. What we promise, and what we can't

We build wed.cards carefully and we run it honestly. We test our own security, we keep everything patched, and if we find a problem we fix it rather than hope nobody notices. That is a commitment we take seriously, and it is not conditional on anyone forcing us.

What we can't promise is perfection. The service is provided as it is. We don't guarantee it will always be available, entirely free of faults, or immune to every possible attack — no online service can honestly say otherwise, and we would rather tell you that up front than write it in small print.

So where something goes wrong despite our reasonable care — a fault we didn't know about, an outage at one of our suppliers, or an event genuinely outside our control — we are not responsible for indirect or knock-on losses, including lost data, lost opportunities, or disappointment. Where we are responsible for something, our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the problem arose.

Two things we will never try to sign away. First, anything the law simply doesn't allow us to exclude — including our own fraud or serious negligence. Second, our duty to look after your information properly: if we mishandle it, that is on us, and no clause on this page changes that. We are asking not to be held liable for accidents despite genuine care, not for carelessness.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

wed.cards is based in India and has no office or branch in Europe. Indian law applies to these terms, and any dispute would be handled by the courts of Sangli, Maharashtra, India.

If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away the protections of your own country's law. Wherever you live, the rights your local consumer and privacy law gives you still stand.
